Delivering local distributed energy

New Paragraph

What is Traxis Energy?

A commercial catalyst that focuses on consolidating the fragmented local energy market. It is for leading businesses interested in moving from trials to commercial propositions.

We address the middle and often rocky ground between early adoption and mass market - the challenge of “crossing the chasm"*.

Using collaborative approaches to foster new sustainable business income streams, our focus is on enabling long-term business growth for Smart Local Energy Systems - 'local energy for local people'.

*  See Crossing the Chasm by Geoffrey Moore

Why Traxis Energy is needed:

  • Fragmentation - many consumer Low Carbon Technologies (LCTs) are at the early adopter stage, but as yet, there are no “whole product” solutions and therefore no mass market demand.

  • Timing - we are at the point where the whole can become greater than the sum of the parts. In addition, action now to expand local energy will pave the way for Net Zero 2030 targets.

  • Partnerships - co-development partnerships are needed to deliver the whole value chain that mainstream consumers (residential and commercial) are looking for.

ABOUT US

Traxis - Our Story

We are a group of entrepreneurs with over a century of experience successfully delivering solutions across the world of energy. In 2020 we decided to use our experience and global networks to make a real difference at what is a critical crossroads in the decarbonisation of energy.

Having all founded and grown businesses, and with the scars to prove it, we are frustrated at the lack of progress in what is being offered to consumers small and large. To us it is clear: local energy is too fragmented to have the impact needed.

Consequently, we have decided to bring the players with the most potential together, to help them to collaborate and partner intensively and to invest in a more coordinated way, so that together we can start to create scale, and make a world of difference.

The Traxis Group

A Joint Venture set up by VaasaETT, ZIGZAG Strategy+Research and Pallicons. Simon Anderson of ZIGZAG SR is our CEO and a Director, Philip Lewis of VaasaETT and Petter Allison are also Directors. All 3 Directors have considerable experience of setting up and running  businesses - and have the scars to prove it

Dr Philip Lewis is a Co-founder of Traxis Group, CEO and founder of VaasaETT and a co-founder of smartEn. Originally at the forefront of energy market analysis in Great Britain during the onset of full-liberalisation with what eventually became EDF Energy, Philip has been a pioneer of market analysis over 25 years in over 100 energy markets for governments, regulators, utilities, innovators and investors. A member of the E.DSO Stakeholder and Innovation Council and former member of the World Economic Forum Global Agenda Council on the Future of Electricity, Philip recently led the European Commission’s (commissioned) European Barriers in Retail Markets project and led orparticipated in over two dozen other major projects for State and National Governments, the European Commission and national and European authorities. In recent years Philip has supported some of the world’s largest and most innovative corporates and investors to identify and evaluate new opportunities.

Simon Anderson has had an eclectic career. After 26 years in the Royal Navy, ultimately as a submarine commander, he embarked on a business career, first as a change management consultant introducing people to new technologies then as an entrepreneur. His first company he describes as airbnb without the technology! It taught him the importance of timing in business. His second, Green Energy Options, is a successful Home Energy Management business. Zigzag SR and the Traxis Group are his 3rd and 4th businesses.

Simon is motivated by making a difference to the challenge of decarbonising energy this decade

Petter Allison is an advisor to international energy corporates, and “new energy” start /scale-ups.
